The consequences of global warming may not be as noticeable on a short-term basis.
Although global warming is real, its consequences may not be as noticeable on a short-term basis. They are already visible in the forms of droughts, floods, forest fires, cold waves and heat waves. However, climate change is certainly underway, and it will eventually manifest with a much bigger impact.
Since the Paris Climate Agreement that was signed in 2016, the current rate of global warming is significantly more than what was expected. During the agreement, the aim was to establish measures in order to reduce global warming to 2ºC, if not to 1.5ºC. Despite that, it is more likely that we are nearing 4ºC, which goes above the preindustrial levels.
